Message From Our Principal

This year I became the fourth Principal of Sandon Public School. I am very proud and excited to be leading Sandon as it begins its 25th year of operation.

Sandon Public School is an inclusive school with expertise in catering for all students. Our students  include those  with disabilities in regular classes, our special education unit,  students with English as a Second Language, students from overseas and Aboriginal background.  We welcome and cater for the learning needs of all students.

All teaching staff at Sandon Public School provide quality teaching and learning programs that cater for each individual student.   They are  supported by School Learning Support Officers who work closely with the class teacher to implement programs and practices that support the needs of individual students.

Sandon Public School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) School that explicitly teaches our values.  We  have S.H.I.N.E. Awards that recognise students who display the values, as well as our Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Awards that also recognise student achievement.  The NSW Department of Education Student Wellbeing Framework is our guide to ensuring our students Connect, Succeed and Thrive.

Students have the opportunity to be involved in  a range of extra activities that support their learning both within school and beyond.

Sandon Public School is a learning community, we believe that every student, every teacher and our whole school can improve every year and we will make a difference so our students are prepared for life long learning.

Assemblies

Assemblies are held on Fridays of Weeks 5 and 10 of each term and commence at 2pm.

Parents are welcome to attend these assemblies. This is an opportunity for the school to reward and acknowledge student achievement and citizenship. It is also an opportunity for students and classes to showcase different aspects of their work.

School crest

The school crest incorporates several important symbols designed to both reflect and summarise the themes and values of education at Sandon Public School. The words of the school's motto "Discover Together", stands as a platform upon which students are supported under the protective symbol of a teacher. The geographic location of Mount Duval forms a background as hands reach out to each other symbolising cooperation and understanding.
